Eagles News · Edgewater Baseball Continues To Roll

The Edgewater Eagles travelled to Poinciana last night and celebrated a 15-0 victory to extend the winning streak to 12. The offense blasted off early as Junior Alex DeGuzman launched a grand slam home run into orbit in the top of the 1st to give the Eagles an early 4-0 lead.  Kennedy Space Center has not verified if the ball has even landed yet, we are still awaiting confirmation.

Senior Canaan Mobley took the mound and was throwing missiles all night clocked at nearly the speed of light. The Eagle hurler threw 3 scoreless including 3 strikeouts to earn the victory. It was an absolute meteor shower in the top of the 2nd as the Eagles scored 6 runs on 4 hits including a rocket by Mobley that landed 2 runs and a comet strike from Sophomore Brady Appel. The Poinciana offense would continue to stare into Mobley’s solar eclipse through the bottom of the 2nd inning. Junior Kymani Atterbury would launch an RBI single into another galaxy in the top of the 3rd to extend the lead to 11-0. It was more of the same from Mobley in the 3rd as the Poinciana couldn’t escape the black hole.

The top of the 4th would put the game out of reach as the Eagles added a constellation of hits and runs from Juniors Will Murphy, Leo Simmons, Xaden Lee, Nolan Gray, and Sineca Griffin to make the score 15-0. The Eagles will look to continue their standard of excellence next Tuesday night at Jones High School.
